Principal Investigator: Prof. Wolfgang Goldmann

W.Goldmann My research focuses on the protein and cell biomechanics. Specifically, it deals with the binding of membrane-bound proteins to the actin cytoskeleton and focal adhesion points as the well as with their influence on the visco/elastic/plastic behavior in cells, using biochemical and biophysical methods. In addition, I am studying the function of focal adhesion proteins on cellular traction, motility, and chemical signaling in 2D and 3D environments.
